Saucy Cheeseburger Sandwiches

2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 10.75-ounce can condensed tomato soup
1 cup finely chopped onion (2 medium)
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
hamburger buns, toasted
sliced American cheese

1) In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain off fat. Transfer meat to 3 1/2 or 4-quart Crockpot. Stir in remaining ingredients.
2) Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6 to 8 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 to 4 hours. Serve on hamburger buns topped with sliced cheese. Makes 12 servings.
